LARGE COUNTRY GARDEN AND POOL
The clients for this project had recently moved to a large country property, where the established garden was lacking inspiration. They had an old run down pool which they wanted redesigned, and they wanted a full concept design for the 1.5 acre garden. Their intention is to complete the garden in stages, the first stage being the redesign and renovation of the pool which was completed in 2020. The technical design and build of the pool was carried out by The Natural Pool Company. The rest of the garden will be developed over the next few years.
Services Provided
Two concept design were produced for this site. The couple instructed GGD not long after they had first moved to the property, and an initial design was done based on their then requirements. However, after living at the house for a little while, they realised how they wanted to use the garden and I redesigned the space to fit in with this. This is often the case, and GGD always works in a fluid and adaptable way to suit your needs. Once the concept was agreed upon, we carried out all detailed drawings needed for the pool and surrounding area which was to be the first stage.
The property sits within an AONB and conservation area, meaning that a planning application was needed before we could start work on the pool. We carried out the application and were granted permission so we could move forward with this stage.
